As planned in April this year, Dr. Karanja and Elizabeth(PhD Student, Project 2) undertook a short training on Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and chemometrics at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. The one week training took place between the 10th and 14th of July, 2017.
The training was facilitated and financed by PASUFONS which is a collaboration between the Departments of Food Science and Technology in JKUAT, Food Science and Technology in Makerere and Food Science in Stellenbosch University.
This training was intended to build the capacity of JKUAT’s Food Science and Technology staff and LCEFoNS project 2 PhD student in NIRS instrumentation.
